After performing their parts of Young Money’s “Bed Rock” together Drake takes time to tell Nicki Minaj that he doesn’t “give a fuck what Lil Kim and nobody else talkin bout. You the baddest chick who ever do that shit”.

“Rapper” Drake brags about his skill in an interview with Complex:
Click here to continue reading“The way Jay and Wayne write rap, I write R&B. I don’t write lyrics down on paper,” Drake told Complex magazine in its February/March issue, which features the So Far Gone star on the cover. “The other day, I was in the studio with Alicia Keys, and I wrote two songs just speaking to her. I wish I could write that way for rap. With my rap songs, there’s so much of me I have to give that I don’t know if I could ever just flow. The thing is, I’m a great rapper. There’s two elements to rap:

Alicia Keys is releasing her 4th studio album on December 15th. She promised us that this the album is going to be her most personal (doesn’t every artist say that?) and then some may be surprised about the sound. So let’s see if this album is another classic or rather “The Element of Boredom”.

Click here to continue reading“Blueprint 3″ has taken longer to record than any of Jay-Z’s previous albums. The rapper says he finished the project in November, then held it back as he negotiated with Def Jam. “The time gave me a chance to step back, touch it, step back, touch it, rework it. Then I had to keep motivating myself because of the current state of music. My album is a single album, but it’s part of a collective — the collectiveness of hip-hop,” he says.
So Jay-Z took his time, and let his hair grow out — as he usually does when he’s in the studio — and came back with collaborations with producers Kanye West, No I.D. and Timbaland, as well as musician contributions from MGMT, Drake, Mr. Hudson, Rihanna and Kid Cudi. (As of now, there are no collaborations with Beyonce, although he doesn’t rule out the possibility.)
