Review: Beyonce – 4

By iWontSTFU On June 7, 2011 No Comments

Beyonce 4 Album Cover

4. A random figure for most of us. For Beyoncé it is the most meaningful number in her life. Explanation needed? Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4th, 1981. Momma Tina celebrates her birthday January 4th. Her husband rapper Jay-Z’s birthday is December 4th. This is why both of them tattooed the “IV” on their fingers. Consequently, they married on 4.4.2008. And now we are right before the release of Beyoncé’s FOURTH solo album which is, of course, named “4”. Makes sense, right?

She might say that she doesn’t “know much about algebra” but anyways the opening song is called “1+1” and is a beautiful ballad.

“I Care” and “Miss You” are both simply epic and I think a lot of people can relate to the lyrics.

Thank God I found the good

Review: Diddy-Dirty Money – Last Train To Paris

By iWontSTFU On December 11, 2010 No Comments

Last Train To Paris Diddy Dirty Money Album Cover

Thanks to Interscope we have been able to give Diddy-Dirty Money’s album „Last Train To Paris“ a listen one week before its release. I honestly did not know what to expect from the album because I am not a big fan of Diddy but I really enjoyed “Hello Goodmorning” and “Loving You No More”.
So when I started listening I already loved the intro. It’s always good to have a nice start, a positive sign. After that we get to hear great productions by Swizz Beatz, Danja, Darkchild, Alex Da Kid, to name a few. Diddy-Dirty Money also recruited a lot of A-list performers such as Usher, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Grace Jones, Lil Wayne etc.

Yelawolf – Trunk Muzik 0-60 Review

By iWontSTFU On November 27, 2010 No Comments

Yelawolf Official Album Cover Trunk Muzik 0-60

It’s always a good sign if a debut album features already established artists. On Trunk Muzik 0-60 you will find collaborations with Gucci Mane, Raekwon and Bun B, to name a few. However, it has to be taken into consideration that most of the songs off his album have already been on the mixtape “Trunk Muzik”. Consequently if you’ve followed his steps already there won’t be much too be suprised about when listening to the album.

And one thing we can’t deny and is propably also the reason why people might take a look at him:  He’s white. But this shouldn’t be a factor on which we base our opinion and judgement on.

So what’s the album like? Well, it does have a few different elements in it. For example, the first track

Review: Far East Movement – Free Wired

By iWontSTFU On October 11, 2010 No Comments

If somebody asked me how I would describe Far East Movement, I’d put this formula: LMFAO + Teriyaki Boyz = Far East Movement. With that said I must also mention that I like both groups but Far East Movement actually takes it yet to another level.

Their hit single “Like A G6″ sure is a club banger that I absolutely love. I would put “Go Ape” featuring Lil Jon in the very same bucket. Even though Lil Jon’s features are a little outdated it works well here, additionally the Gwen Stefani line “This shit is bananas B-A-N-A-N-A-S” adds some flavour to the track.

Interestingly enough are also the A-list features such as Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Snoop Dogg and Keri Hilson. By reading this line-up you can already tell that Far East Movement is going full force.

Although I am

Review: The Green Children – Encounter

By iWontSTFU On September 19, 2010 No Comments

The Green Children Encounters

When I was introduced to “The Green Children” I was pleasantly surprised about their unique sound. The duo consists of Milla Sunde who’s from Norway and Tom ‘Marlow’ Bevan who’s from the UK. Both met in a music school in Liverpool – and thank God they found each other!

Their debut album “Encounter” which will be released on Oct 12 is a record that let’s you forget the world around you. For some reason when I heard the first song I thought of UK sensation Ellie Goulding who I also love but “The Green Children” do definitely differ from her. Milla Sunde’s voice is simply great and special and blends perfectly with the interesting sound of pop combined with dance elements. It kind of feels like you’re in a fantasy world as well.

Review: The McClymonts – Chaos and Bright Lights

By iWontSTFU On August 20, 2010 No Comments

I’m going to be honest: Country music is not really the genre I enjoy listening to. I definitely could live in a world without a Taylor Swift. The only country audio file on my HDD is “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood who can hold a note unlike Taylor Swift. But now I got to revise my statement because I also own now a full country album which is “Chaos and Bright Lights” by The McClymonts.

The trio of sisters was born and raised in Australia where their album “Chaos and Bright Lights” already climbed up the charts in 2007. Now it’s about time to take step further and conquer the USA. And I think the album has potential to do well in the homeland of country.

My personal

Review: The Spill Canvas – Formalities

By iWontSTFU On July 31, 2010 No Comments

When The Spill Canvas released their EP “Realities” back in May I already gave you my input on the songs. Now let’s take a look at the songs that complete the album “Formalities”.

As Long As It Takes

Catchy! I like it.

Good Graces, Bad Influence

Tempo changes and emphatic vocals describe “Good Graces, Bad Influence”.

The Bone

…rather belongs to the song that I would skip as it is a little bit to hectic to me.

Don’t Let Your Enemies Become Friends

Great songs in my opinion. I really enjoy how the song takes slowly off.

We don’t want to forget the acoustic version of the songs “10,000 Midnights”, “Dust Storm”, “Our Song”, “As Long As It Takes” which I found all as extremely well done. So if you’re tired of the regular studio version this is definitely your way to go.

Review: Good Morning Milo – Through The Chaos & Clatter

By iWontSTFU On July 31, 2010 No Comments

When I for the first time started playing the album I thought “Pick Up Lines” was a never ending instrumental intro which is somewhat true even though to be fair: it’s only 1:20 minutes long and if you think about it the thing that there are no spoken words leads us listeners to being able to interpret differently. I came up with two different versions: 1. I’ve been waiting for vocals but I never got them. Well, this happens to the most of us: you see a cute girl/guy and are secretly hoping this person would make an attempt to approach you. Because of shyness it might never happen which is why there’s silence. 2. Bad pickup lines are the worst thing on earth. So maybe sometimes it’s better just to shut your mouth and let other

Review: Lady Gaga "The Monster Ball" Tour

By iWontSTFU On May 13, 2010 No Comments

“ICH BIN LADY GAGA!” Just in case anybody in the house wondered Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, yelled in German: “I am Lady Gaga”. But let’s start from the very beginning.

At 8 pm the support act Semi Precious Weapons got on stage. I won’t lie. I went late on purpose to miss them. Although I’ve never really heard about them before I looked them up on the Internet and decided quickly that they are not my cup of tea. The ten minutes I endured them only justified my assumptions. But obviously there are people who enjoy a weirdo who will say the f-word three times in one single sentence and do weird moves on stage. I clearly don’t belong to this group.

Review: The Spill Canvas – Realities

By iWontSTFU On May 7, 2010 No Comments

The Spill Canvas recently released an EP called “Realities”. I decided to check it out and you can now read what I think about their latest effort.

Our Song

Great song. It’s really catchy and I can totally see why this one has been chosen to be a single.

Dust Storm

To be honest I am not quite sure what to think about this song. Something is off there, however, it is not bad neither.

Let Go

…sounds kinda like a continuation of “Dust Storm”. It somewhat has the same vibe but I’m really feeling the chorus this time.
